JIMMY MARS STRONG AT DEER CREEK
& RIVER CITIES!

(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) The Mars Racing team kicked off the
World of Outlaws Late Model Series Wild West Tour last week
with a pair of events in the states of Minnesota and North
Dakota. On Wednesday night, July 8, the Deer Creek Speedway
in Spring Valley, Minnesota played host to the annual running
of the 'Gopher 50.' Jimmy Mars timed in third quickest in
WOOLMS qualifying and later ran second in his heat race. After
starting eighth on the grid in the $10,000 to win feature
event, Jimmy worked his way up to the third spot, which is
where he finished behind winner Darrell Lanigan and runner-up
Brian Birkhofer.
Following a day off, the #28 team was back at it again on
Friday evening, July 10 at the River Cities Speedway in Grand
Forks, North Dakota. Jimmy once again qualified third fastest
and ran second in heat race action. The Menomonie, Wisconsin
native then rolled off from the outside of the second row
in the $10,000 to win A-Main and passed two cars en route
to a strong runner-up performance behind winner Josh Richards.
