MARS DOMINANT IN WDRL SWING;
LERNERVILLE UP NEXT!
Posted June 26, 2009
(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars and his #28 Dirt Late Model
team had a spectacular extended weekend from June 17-20, as
they recorded a trio of $5,000 World Dirt Racing League (WDRL)
Series victories in their home state of Wisconsin! Following
a close runner-up finish to winner Chad Simpson on Wednesday
at the North Central Speedway in Brainerd, Minnesota, Jimmy
dominated the rest of the weekend. On Thursday at the Superior
Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin, Jimmy led all fifty laps
of the main event to score the convincing victory.
The action then turned to the renowned Cedar Lake Speedway
in New Richmond, Wisconsin for the 'Masters' on Friday and
Saturday. Jimmy led all fifty circuits of the opener on Friday
to secure the $5,000 payday, while he led the final twenty
laps on Saturday to sweep the 'Masters' weekend at CLS. The
three wins last week bring Jimmy's total up to eight triumphs
so far in the 2009 season. You can view complete results from
the four-race WDRL swing by accessing www.worldraceleague.com.
"Everything pretty much clicked for us last week like
I had hoped," stated Mars via telephone this week. "Every
time you leave the shop, you are looking to win and last week
was a great week for us. Especially in front of my fans around
home, it was cool to put on a good show for them. I have to
thank my entire team, sponsors, and everyone associated with
Mars Racing for their support and hopefully we can have another
strong weekend at Lernerville!"
Next up for the Mars Racing team will be the annual running
of the 'Firecracker 100' at the Lernerville Speedway in Sarver,
Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday, June 26-27. The World
of Outlaws Late Model Series will once again sanction the
premier Dirt Late Model event, which boasts a stout $30,000
top prize. You can view additional information concerning
