(June 9, 2021) Jimmy Mars and his #28 team invaded Mississippi Thunder Speedway in Fountain City, Wisconsin on Friday evening, June 4 for the annual running of the 'River City Rumble.' The Lucas Oil MLRA Series sanctioned the single-day program, which drew 28 competitors to the Badger State oval to do battle for a $10,000 top prize. Jimmy earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session and later secured a heat race triumph during preliminary action.

After starting the 50-lap contest from the outside of the front row, Jimmy raced all over the top ten early in the distance before making a charge back up to second before the halfway mark in the race. The Menomonie, Wisconsin ace was then tracking down leader Tony Jackson, Jr. and made several bids for the lead until slowing to draw a lap 39 caution flag. Jimmy wound up retiring from the 'River City Rumble' in the fifteenth finishing position. Full results from Mississippi Thunder Speedway can be viewed online at

Next up for Mars Racing will be an action-packed week at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio from June 9-12. With COVID-19 restrictions forcing the 1/2-mile oval to scrap last year's annual 'Dirt Late Model Dream,' the Buckeye State facility returns this year with double 'Dirt Late Model Dreams.' A pair of Twin 25 preliminary features - each boasting a $10,000 payday - will take place later tonight with points accrued going towards Thursday's 27th Annual 'Dream' that will headlined by a 100-lap main event shelling out a whopping $127,000 to the winner.

Then on Friday night at the "Big E," two more $10,000 to win Twin 25 preliminary features will be held to help set the stage for Saturday's finale. The 26th Annual 'Dirt Late Model Dream' will be held on Saturday evening with a $126,000 paycheck earmarked for the victor of the 100-lap crown jewel extravaganza. In all, a total purse of over $792,000 has been posted for the lucrative week. Jimmy has two Top Five finishes to his credit in this storied event including his $100,000 triumph back in 1997.
