MARS LAYS CLAIM TO VICTORY
AT CEDAR LAKE!
Posted May 21, 2009
(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) With the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt
Series race at the LaSalle (IL) Speedway rained-out on Saturday,
May 16, the Mars Racing team decided to stick around home
and compete in a regular weekly show at the Cedar Lake Speedway
in New Richmond, Wisconsin. The decision paid off for the
#28 team, as Jimmy Mars recorded his second feature win of
the 2009 racing season. After running second in heat race
action, Jimmy led flag-to-flag in the main event to lay claim
to the $1,000 payday over Rick Egersdorf, Lance Matthees,
Eric Breeschoten, and Steve Laursen. You can view complete
results from CLS by accessing www.cedarlakespeedway.com.
"It was good to race around home and help out all of
the drivers that run our MasterSbilt from Mars cars,"
quoted Mars this week. "Of course, it was great to win
as well, but we mainly wanted to help our clientele and do
some testing. We achieved those objectives and we will now
turn our attention to the Show-Me 100. After nearly winning
that race a year ago, I would really like to go back down
there and compete for the win again!"
Next up for the #28 team will be a pair of special events
this upcoming Memorial Day holiday weekend in Missouri and
Illinois. On Friday and Saturday, May 22-23, the West Plains
Motor Speedway in West Plains, Missouri will play host to
the 17th Annual 'O'Reilly Show-Me 100.' The Lucas Oil Late
Model Dirt Series will sanction the crown jewel event for
the first time and a $40,000 top prize is up for grabs. The
cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand at WPMS this
weekend to tape all of the dirt-slinging action for broadcast
later in the year.
On Sunday, May 24, the competition will switch to the Tri-City
Speedway in Granite City, Illinois for another round of Lucas
Oil Late Model Dirt Series action. A $10,000 winner's check
is on the line at the St. Louis area venue on Sunday. You

shows by accessing www.lucasdirt.com.
