JIMMY MARS CAPTURES PAIR OF
WINS IN ARIZONA!!!
Posted January 21, 2010
(MENOMONIE, WISCONSIN) Jimmy Mars and the Mars Racing team
trekked west to Arizona recently to kick-off their 2010 racing
season. The USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona played host to
the 4th Annual 'Wild West Shootout,' which featured six Dirt
Late Model events from January 9-17. Jimmy's hot streak from
2009 carried over to 2010, as the Menomonie, Wisconsin native
notched a pair of victories to go along with five Top Five
performances!
The driver known as the "Iceman" picked up a $3,000
paycheck in the opener on January 9 and a $10,000 payday in
the 'Wild West Shootout' finale on January 17. In between
his bookend triumphs, Jimmy accumulated two runner-up finishes
and a third place effort. He left Arizona with the most loot,
as Jimmy pocketed $17,800 for his efforts during the miniseries.

"I was very pleased with the start of our 2010 season,"
commented Mars this week after returning back to his race
shop. "We brought a new car out there and we were in
the top three each night we made the feature, so I think that
speaks volumes to everyone that built the car here at the
shop. The one night I didn't make the feature was my fault,
as I just got up in the slime and it sucked me right into
the wall unfortunately. Aside from that, the entire trip was
a blast and I look forward to participating in the 2011 edition
of the Wild West Shootout!"
Jimmy will have a few weeks off until he travels to the East
Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida for the final three
nights of the historic 'Winternationals.' He will pilot the
Rocket Chassis House Car in a trio of Lucas Oil Late Model
Dirt Series events at the Tampa area speedplant on February
4, 5, & 6. Josh Richards, who normally drives the #1 Rocket
House Car, will be attempting to qualify for the ARCA RE/MAX
Series race at the Daytona International Speedway and Jimmy
was offered the temporary ride and gladly accepted. Additional
information concerning the 'Winternationals' can be found
